The old gods of Uruk were worshipped in a dark and desolate city-wall, where the only light came from flickering candles and the occasional lightning strike. In this place of darkness, a young girl was sacrificed to the pagan god Ba'al. Her skin was pale and her eyes sunken, her hair thin and lifeless. She lay on a sandstone altar, surrounded by ancient sacrificial ritualistic tattoos that depicted scenes of violence and death. Despite her frail appearance, she had piercing eyes that seemed to pierce through the darkness around her. Her body was covered in mosquito bites and itty-bitties - tiny wounds caused by insect bites that left scars on her skin. Despite all this pain, she lay still as if dead - until the moment when she suddenly sprang to life with an intense expression of pain on her face.
